Stirling Stars at Terang

Today at Terang we saw a newly gelded version of promising stayer Star of Stirling and it's fair to say we like what we see. Sent out a short priced favourite Will Gordon was able to see them all in front of him at the 600 pole, giving him a very quiet ride before unleashing a powerful finish over the concluding stages to score a comfortably win first up at the 2156m trip.
It was only a weak race today but the horse will improve significantly fitness wise from that and has more in store for the preparation. A special mention to the owners who have been very patient with this guy. He's been a slow maturing, typical northern hemisphere bred horse but he appears to have switched on and is a horse than can go onto bigger and better things. His next assignment will likely be at Warrnambool on the 9th March where he will improve sharply.
